I would highly recommend Manpreet and Sonia and their team.Since starting our son confidence and skills in maths and english has improved immensely. They have created a welcoming, friendly, fun, safe space for the kids to learn and achieve. They really care about the students and their families. The communication is fantastic and us as parents have even been educated on how to best support our kids at home with their learning. They are a team that go over and above for their clients and achieve great results.

Mathematics

At Scholars Academy, the Mathematics course is designed to build a solid foundation in key areas of mathematics, aligned with the New Zealand curriculum and Numeracy framework. Students will begin by mastering basic operations with fractions, decimals, and percentages, which are essential for everyday problem-solving. Geometry lessons will focus on understanding shapes, angles, and measurement, all while linking concepts to real-world applications. BEDMAS (Brackets, Exponents, Division, Multiplication, Addition, Subtraction) will be introduced to support efficient problem-solving strategies. As students progress, they will tackle more complex topics such as algebraic expressions, linear equations, and basic statistics, applying these principles to solve practical problems. The course will be personalized according to the student’s level of understanding, and regular assessments such as the Numeracy and Achievement tests will track their progress. This ensures that students stay on track with their learning and can confidently apply their skills to both academic challenges and real-life situations.

English

The English course at Scholars Academy is designed to strengthen both reading and writing skills, ensuring students develop a solid foundation in language. Students will begin by focusing on basic grammar and sentence structure, including punctuation, spelling, and the parts of speech. As they progress, they will work on reading comprehension, analyzing both fiction and nonfiction texts, and enhancing their ability to understand and interpret stories. Vocabulary-building exercises will help expand their language skills, and writing activities will cover a wide range of formats, from simple sentences to more complex essays and creative writing pieces. Literature will also be introduced, allowing students to engage with stories and explore characters, themes, and narrative techniques. Oral communication skills will be developed through discussions, presentations, and group activities. The course will adapt to each student’s abilities, with regular assessments to ensure steady progress and foster confidence in their communication skills.

Science

The Science course aims to ignite curiosiaty and encourage exploration among kids. Students will begin by studying fundamental concepts in biology, such as the human body, plants, and animals, building a foundational understanding of living organisms. Physics will introduce basic concepts like forces, motion, and energy, encouraging students to understand the physical world around them. Chemistry lessons will explore the properties of materials, simple chemical reactions, and the basics of the periodic table. Earth Sciences will cover topics like weather patterns, the environment, and natural resources, helping students understand the earth’s systems and the importance of sustainability. Hands-on experiments will be a key part of the course, allowing students to engage in practical learning and develop problem-solving skills. The curriculum is designed to adapt to students’ levels, ensuring that the material is both challenging and accessible.

Computer Science

The Computer Science course is designed to provide students with a comprehensive introduction to the world of technology. Starting with the basics of coding, students will learn how to write simple programs using beginner-friendly languages like Python or JavaScript. Key concepts like loops, conditions, and variables will help students understand how computers process information. The course will also cover algorithms, teaching students how to solve problems efficiently by breaking them down into logical steps. As students advance, they will explore data structures, such as lists and arrays, and how these can be used to organize information. Software development will also be introduced, with students learning how to design basic applications or websites. Throughout the course, students will work on fun, hands-on projects that allow them to apply what they’ve learned in a creative way. The course will be tailored to each student’s pace, ensuring they build confidence and a solid understanding of key technology concepts.
